The founders
► Ursula Spitzbart - German, English, Icelandic
Ursula was born and raised in Nürnberg in Germany but has lived in Reykjavik since 2003 and speaks Icelandic fluently. Her educational background is in home economics and nutrition but she is most passionate about travel and meeting people.
Ursula worked for several years at the Technische Universität München-Weihenstephan University in Bavaria. Later she pursued her life-long dream to become a tourist guide. Ursula then led several tours for the German tour operator Rotel Tours in Scotland over a period of four years.
Ursula's first book, Between Light and Darkness, the Every Day Adventures in Iceland, was published in March 2009 in German by Dryas in Germany. Book comments. Second edition - April 2010.
► Stefan Helgi Valsson - Icelandic and English
Stefan was born in Iceland but has lived in the Netherlands, South Africa and the USA. His educational background is in tourism, education, journalism and public administration but he is most passionate about guiding and training tourist guides in Iceland.
Stefan has worked as a tourist guide and driver / guide since 1988. He has worked for several tour operators and travel agencies in Africa and Iceland, including National Geographic, Vantage, Carlson Wagonlit, Kuoni, Travelsphere, Explore, Reykjavik Excursions, Iceland Travel and many many more.
